High CFM Turbo Wastegated Charger for SBU Unimog
We offer a custom built turbo charging system for your 416 or 406 Unimog. We use a custom built heavy walled tubular exhaust manifold with the turbo mounted close to the exhaust ports from the cylinder head giving you the highest efficiency turbo charging system available.
Our system mandates a 50 - 75 mm cab lift. This lift not only gives the necessary clearance, but greatly improves cooling. Not only engine but cab as well. The extra room makes working on and maintaining your Unimog much easier without the need for tilting the cab.
There is a large variety of options for this setup and each kit is custom built to order. Prices vary from $5,800 to over $10,000.

This high CFM turbocharger is wastegated for a quicker spool up and an overall boost in performance over the OEM SBU turbocharger. Our turbo is a direct replacement for your SBU. The only modification needed is the exhaust pipe to elbow length ratio, because this new unit is approximately 37mm longer than the OEM Unit.
Our turbo is wastegated and can be adjusted from 20 psi up to 35 psi if your fuel setting is high enough (example: a U I200 at 130 hp generates a maximum of 16 psi). This high efficiency turbo creates more boost with less heat rise than the stock turbo setup, lowering your exhaust temperatures significantly. With more air flow the combustion process is more efficiently handled, allowing for improved power/torque and lowered EGTs without intercooling.

C.O.R.E.'s Wheel Spacers offer the same wheel offset as a set of drum brake
wheels on a disc braked Unimog. These units are made of steel,
rather than the more traditional 6061 aluminum and use OEM Unimog wheel
studs and lug nuts. Our manufacturer, Spidertrax Off-Road, has manufactured
over 500,000 spacers for 4WDs and have never had a failure on even the most
extreme applications. Compared to the old Mercedes OEM units, our wheel spacers
are designed with a more modern, larger O.D. which yields a significant improvement
in life-long fatigue strength under load.

Mounting at 5 points on the roof, these tree cages can optionally be built to include a roof top storage and auxiliary light mounts. 2 points attach on the nose of your Unimog and can be internally supported by the lower 'Uni'body frame, at the tilting points of the cab, for increased load bearing capacity.

We build truly unique and effective front end protection for Unimog. Our front "Bull Bar" bumper for the 406 and 416 provides high clearance, full nose protection. It's a 3 section modular unit that has an exchangeable center section, which can accommodate one of our specialty 15,000 lb. or 18,000 lb hydraulic winches and/or can be configured to accept quick hitch attachments on the front mounting plate without having to remove the bull bar.
Our bull bars are built from 1/4, 5/16 and 1/2" plate as well as 3 1/2" tube. They are of a moncoque design so they are incredibly strong and surprisingly light (approx 185 lbs. each).
This unit can be the front mounting point for an external tree protection for the Unimog cab as well, mounted on flexible polyurethane bushings.
